The amazing thing about Koontz is that he can crank out 2-3 books every year and yet all of them are examples of great storytelling. This seems like it might be a touch auto-biographical, as the author Cubby Greenwich takes a beating from an influential critic named Waxx, and it soon becomes apparent that the criticism is intended as a death sentence for Cubby and his family. As the plot unfolds and other similarly-targeted authors and artists are identified, the characters kick into overdrive to resolve the situation before they are "resolved" themselves. Great literature? No, but an excellent summer read!
